Feeding Consultation Virtual (For babies born premature or term)

Service Description

A 60-minute online consultation offering personalised, evidence-based feeding support from the comfort of your own home, wherever you are in the UK. Whether you're experiencing breastfeeding challenges, concerned about your baby's feeding or milk supply, or would like support with expressing, combination feeding or bottle feeding, we'll explore your concerns together and develop a practical plan tailored to you and your baby. The consultation includes a detailed feeding history, observation of a feed via video where appropriate, and personalised advice. A written feeding plan will be emailed within 24 hours, along with 7 days of WhatsApp support to help you put things into practice and ask questions along the way. Virtual consultations are available for babies born at term or prematurely, including babies who have spent time in neonatal care. If your baby has complex feeding needs or requires an in-person assessment, I'll advise you on the most appropriate next steps. Before your consultation Your appointment will take place via WhatsApp Video. Please have your baby and their red book (personal child health record) with you. Partners and other support people are very welcome. It can be helpful to have someone available to hold the camera at different angles so I can observe feeding and positioning. Virtual consultations have limitations, as I cannot physically examine your baby or assess feeding in the same way as during a home visit. I may ask you to help me assess aspects of feeding by adjusting your baby's position or following my guidance with simple observations and exercises. If I cannot adequately assess your baby's needs remotely, I may recommend an in-person assessment or further support. Please ensure your phone is charged and you have a good internet connection.
